Personal bio
Professor Olajide Olagunju, PhD, FCIArb, FICIArb, FICMC, multilingual (French/English) lawyer, arbitrator, mediator, anthropologist and peace scholar, was called to the Bar in 1989.
1995 British Chevening scholar in Emerging Law; 2000 Austrian Peace Scholar; and 2001 United States International Visitor in Conflict Resolution and Preventive Diplomacy, he is a pioneer in the study and practice of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) with a bias for commercial mediation.
2005 Mellon Research Scholar, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); 2008 Research Fellow, Harvard University and Sachar Research Scholar, Brandeis University in conflict resolution, he is professor of conflict resolution and of peacebuilding at Bakke Graduate University, Université de l'Alliance Chrétienne d'Abidjan, and at Jesus College Maryland USA where he is also the university president. His current research interest is in the intersection of policy, poverty and peace.

Professor Olagunju has consulted in conflict resolution training for numerous governments and international organizations, including the United Nations in Liberia and the World Bank in Nigeria. He has also headed the legal unit of a federal government agency. As a federal special adviser (labour, conflict management and law), his counsel facilitated, amongst others, the resolution of labour conflicts preventing the privatization of the energy sector in Nigeria in December 2012.
Professor Olagunju has practised law, arbitration and mediation/ADR over three decades, rising to earned fellowships in mediation and arbitration of the Institute of Chartered Mediators Conciliators and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
His mediation training style is notable for its high instructiveness and transformational impact.
