Called to the bar of England and Wales. Also trained as a solicitor of England and Walsh. Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese. A Fellow of CIArb since 2019; dual-qualified both in law and engineering; a registered professional engineer (P.Eng) since 2007.

After years of practice of construction and engineering infrastructure in the UK, Canada, Singapore and China, Shu fulfilled her legal interests through engineering practice by retraining herself in law qualifications.

Holds an LLM via Bar Vocational Study from City University of London after completing a GDL and an LPC; a Master degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King’s College London 2018 following an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London and a bachelor of Engineering from Tianjin University.

Professional qualifications include a member of the Society of Construction Law (SCL); ICC; LCIA; IBA; Gray’s Inn; ArbitralWomen; Worshipful Company of Arbitrators; and a P.Eng of the Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia Canada.

She has been practising as an independent legal consultant advising clients on contentious construction issues involving expert determination and international commercial arbitration; and acting an arbitrator for the Willem C. Vis Moot both in Vienna and Vis Pre-Moots.
