Damian is a UK and international arbitration and mediation practitioner. He will accept appointment in any business sector but he has particular expertise in the technology sector. He also welcomes community mediation appointments. Sitting as a mediator since 2008 and arbitrator since 2019. Started in the technology sector 30 years ago as a Contracts Officer at Thorn EMI Electronics. Managed the contractual aspects of UK and International multi-million dollar electronics and IT contracts. Since then, worked in a variety of technology companies in increasingly senior roles. Founder and CEO of two legal tech companies. Negotiated and managed contracts (including resolved disputes) on six continents covering all areas of business including agency, distribution, intellectual property, licensing, outsourcing, software development and international trade. Undertakes regular speaking engagements in alternative dispute resolution, technology/IP, climate action and access to justice. Past presenter of the Creating Brand Value session on the UK IPO’s IP Masterclass course. Invited speaker on the Imperial College Intellectual Property MBA elective. Editor of the Guide to Protecting Trademarks in European Dependent Territories. Writes on topics related to alternative dispute resolution, technology/IP, climate action and access to justice. Contributed to articles for various media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, CNN and CNBC. Cited in Chokepoints Global Private Regulation on the Internet by Natasha Tusikov. Co-founder of ODRPlat, a carbon neutral online dispute resolution platform.
