Haris P. Meidanis - member of the Athens Bar (1995) - Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and member of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. Certified mediator - Member of the ICC in Greece and of the Institute of World Business Law of the ICC. Has studied at the University of Athens Law School (1993), at the University of London (Queen Mary – LL.M.1996) and holds a Ph.D. in Private International Law from Panteion University of Athens (2003). Member of the Supervisory Board of the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP) and alt. member of the Board of Mediation of the Athens Arbitration and Mediation Centre (EODID). Fields of expertise (a) business and commercial law (b) private international law and law of international business transactions (c) arbitration and mediation and (d) real estate. Extensive experience in international sales, distribution, agency and franchise agreements, joint venture agreements, shareholders’ agreements, various other types of commercial law agreements and disputes and contracts of international transport and international trade related disputes. Has participated in arbitrations and mediations as arbitrator/mediator and/or counsel/advocate. He also possesses considerable litigation experience. Has worked in an international law firm in London as a foreign lawyer as well as in leading Athens and Piraeus Law offices, always with emphasis on business law and international transactions. Has taught Private International Law, the Law of International Transactions, Arbitration and Mediation in Universities and other Institutions in Greece, Luxembourg and Turkey and has partcipated in may training programmes in these fields in around 10 different countries. Writer of two academic books “Ordre Public/ Public Policy in the EU Private International Law” and “Mediation, International and Comparative aspects, both in Greek and over 55 articles in Greek, English and French
