Lahiru Vithanachchi is a Contracts and Commercial Manager in Sri Lanka. He has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, including Gulf projects. He is the inaugural Sri Lankan professional to possess firsthand experience in working with the FIDIC 2017 Standard Forms of Contract within the Sri Lankan context. Further, he holds a BSc in Quantity Surveying, a Diploma in Commercial Arbitration (ICLP, SL), a Diploma in International Arbitration (CIArb, UK), and a Certificate of Construction Adjudication (CIArb, UK). He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb, UK), a Member of the Association of Practicing Quantity Surveyors & Estimators (MAPQSE, SL), and a Member of the Saudi Council of Engineers (MSCE, KSA).

He specializes in contract management, commercial management, contract administration, construction claims, dispute resolution and avoidance, construction law, interim/final account, procurement management, and cost management. He has extensive knowledge and skills in applying FIDIC contracts to various projects, such as mixed development, residential, resort, and infrastructure projects. He has also participated in arbitration, adjudication, and mediation processes as an arbitrator, adjudicator, and party representative/consultant. He is passionate about delivering high-quality services to his clients and stakeholders and achieving the best possible project outcomes.
