Personal bio

Dr. Bernhard Meyer (University of Zurich) and holding an LL.M. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, USA, is a founding partner of MME and an expert in national and international dispute resolution. His professional roles have included serving as Co-Chair of the International Sales Committee (Committee M) of the International Bar Association (IBA), Jurisdictional Council Member and Vice-Chair of the Arbitration Committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA), Vice-President of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), President of the ICC Arbitration Commission Switzerland, Head of the Arbitration Section of the Zurich Bar Association and of the ASA Zurich Local Group.

Dr. Meyer has acted in more than 240 international arbitration proceedings, serving in all roles: President, Co-Arbitrator, Sole Arbitrator, Secretary and Counsel. He also has significant experience in international court litigation, particularly in cross-border disputes involving European, US, and Asian parties and/or jurisdictions.

In the field of conciliation, Dr. Meyer served for a decade as Chair of a Permanent Conciliation Board overseeing a major, multi-billion transalpine tunnel construction project in Switzerland (NEAT). Later, in 2019, the Swiss Confederation nominated him to the World Bank's ICSID Panel of Conciliators, where he serves as one of the four Swiss delegates for the term 2021-2027.

He specializes in international business dispute resolution arising from mergers and acquisition, construction, oil and gas as well as other long-term natural resource contracts (primarily price adjustments), manufacturing, distribution, joint ventures and intellectual property disputes, in a broad area of industries.

Bernhard has written and co-written numerous books and publications, predominantly on arbitration and procedural law.
