Personal bio
am a law graduate and current student of the Law Practitioners Vocational Course, Attorney-at-Law stream, at the University of Mauritius.
I am currently at the Chambers of Mr A. K. Rajah, Senior Attorney, where I assist Mr Rajah across a broad practice encompassing commercial litigation, company law, insolvency, restructuring, arbitration, judicial review and insurance disputes.
My experience includes company restoration proceedings, applications to set aside statutory demands, a scheme of arrangement, voluntary administration, shareholder and liquidation disputes, freezing injunction proceedings and commercial settlement discussions. I regularly draft pleadings, affidavits, board resolutions, legal opinions, commercial agreements and correspondence, while liaising with clients, accountants, counsel, regulators, court officers and other legal practitioners.
I hold an LL.B. (Hons.) in English and Mauritian Law, reflecting Mauritius’s mixed legal system combining French civil law and English common law traditions. I have also completed study in Financial Analysis and Management Accounting at the London School of Economics and Political Science and professional training in mediation and international commercial arbitration.
My interests lie in commercial law, company law, corporate transactions, insolvency, restructuring and dispute resolution.
