Personal bio
Leonardo qualified as a lawyer in Brazil in 2002. Having graduated and passed the Brazilian Bar exam, he worked as a legal assistant at the Rio de Janeiro State Control System Secretariat in the sphere of the Rio de Janeiro State Government. After the public sector, Leonardo worked for five years in two different law firms where he practiced in matters related to tort law, contract law, labour law and tax law. In 2008, Leonardo stopped practising to pursue an LLM in International Trade Law which was followed by a PhD in law, both at the University of Essex. Before joining Royal Holloway, University of London, Leonardo worked as a Lecturer at the Law School at Anglia Ruskin University and as a supervisor for paper 9 in the Department of Land Economy at University of Cambridge.
