Personal bio
Experienced international Chartered Arbitrator and Certified Mediator, resident in Dubai, UAE since 2007. Briefly:
• Arbitrator in over 100 cases, Ad Hoc & institutional;
• Listed or approved by many arbitration centres and appointing bodies;
• Arbitrated matters both as Chair and as Tribunal Member in complex contractual matters (largely construction, real estate and contract interpretation);
• Actively involved in the field of dispute resolution in oil & gas, construction, international contracts; training in the discipline;
• Fellow and Chartered Arbitrator (CIArb);
• Certified by CEDR (UK) as a commercial mediator;
• Frequent speaker on arbitration and mediation-related matters and Course Director with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Victor has prior high-level mediation experience in the dispute resolution field having been appointed by the Attorney General of British Columbia, Canada, to be the Chair of the Manufactured Home Park Dispute Resolution Committee. Victor has earned the internationally-recognized designations of Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a member of the International Court of Arbitration (ICC) – Canada country committee. He co-instructed, with Prof. Dr. Klaus Peter Berger a practical course in International Commercial Arbitration in Dubai. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) Arbitration Committee and is past Regional Director with the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN). He is a Barrister & Solicitor, being a member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia, Canada, and has a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Alberta, Canada.
