Tewfik Shehata is the founding partner of SHEHATA, Attorneys at Law (www.shehatanet.com). He has more than 39 years of experience advising and representing local and international clients with an extensive experience in corporate law, banking and project finance, as well as in other fields of commercial, civil and labor law. He practiced law successively in Al Kamel Law Office, Dentons’ Cairo office, Zaki Hashem & Partners - in which he served as senior partner for 14 years, and since 2009, he headed the firm's Arbitration Department - before establishing his office early 2016.
He has handled several local and international commercial arbitrations involving both public and private entities under most major arbitration centres, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Swiss Chambers of Commerce (SCC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), and the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA). He has also gained excellent reputation in state Courts disputes (mainly Cairo Court of Appeal and the Court of Cassation) related to setting aside of arbitral awards.
He is a ranked lawyer in Chambers & Partners since 2019, which states in its review that “Market sources note him as a "very decent and experienced practitioner”.
