I qualify as a Barrister and Solicitor in Nigeria; obtained a Master of Energy and Resources Law (LLM) from The University of Melbourne, Australia under a fully-funded scholarship from the Australian Government. Currently, Senior Associate at the law firm of The Law Partners (Barristers & Solicitors), practicing Commercial Law in the energy (petroleum, electricity and renewables) and natural resources sectors. I am also a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), USA, and have provided legal professional services related to the acquiring oil prospecting and development licences in two West African countries. I have considerable knowledge of matters concerning both domestic and international arbitration. l have been a party counsel in a number of arbitration matters beginning from referral to arbitration to enforcement of awards. Of note is an arbitration matter concerning petroleum transactions between two (2) Nigerian oil and gas companies in the downstream sub-sector. Currently, I am co-lead counsel in two separate disputes arising from a joint venture agreement and MoU respectively for the development of real estate in Abuja, Nigeria.
