Personal bio
My background is in civil and structural engineering and I hold a PhD in Structural Engineering. My career to date has spanned academia at the University of Zimbabwe and National University of Science and Technology Zimbabwe (NUST), consultancy in environmental protection and supply chain logistics (WHO, UN) and most recently the CEO of the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers since 2007. I am a registered ADR practitioner with the Charted Institute of Arbitrators (UK), The Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (USA), and the Association of Arbitrators (South Africa) and have been appointed sole arbitrator in several commercial/ engineering-related cases from 2007 to date. Since 2016 I am a certified mediator (London School of Mediation) following extensive training in South Africa and have been sole mediator in several mediation cases. I have been engaged in an arbitration tribunal, playing the role of umpire in dispute cases, appointed by party arbitrators. I also sit on several boards and committees including the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA), the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE) , the Zim Code Trust 2 on governance issues, past acting chairman of the Institute of Directors of Zimbabwe (IoDZ) and am a member of the Zimbabwe Engineering Accreditation Board (ZEAB).
