Personal bio
Josh has more than a decade of experience working for a variety of Contractors and Subcontractors on a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects and has been involved in administering and working with both standard and bespoke forms of contract. Josh started his career as a quantity surveyor working on large diameter gas pipeline projects went on to gain experience working on a variety of civil engineering, infrastructure and energy projects as senior quantity surveyor, commercial project manager and contracts manager. His project experience also includes working as a claims consultant on one of the largest energy waste plants in Europe, as a commercial project manager for two offshore substations (required for one of the UK’s largest windfarms) and as a senior quantity surveyor for one of the largest civil engineering/nuclear projects in Europe. Josh has undertaken a broad range of quantity surveying duties during his career including tendering and procurement of contracts, negotiation with contractors and subcontractors, preparation, assessment and agreement of interim and final valuations including pricing variations, financial reporting of live projects as well as the analysis and agreement of various claims in respect of construction disputes. Josh is a Senior Consultant and part of J.S. Held’s Construction Advisory team in the UK. Whilst primarily acting as an assistant quantum expert, Josh also draws upon his extensive commercial experience to assist clients in the preparation and defense of contract claims and regularly provides procurement and contract advice in relation to live projects.
