Personal bio
Having completed his LLB (Hons) from University of London with a 1st class and his Bar Vocational Course from BPP Law School (UK), Khan Khalid Adnan was called to the Bar of England & Wales from the Lincoln’s Inn. Barrister Adnan has been practising as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). Also, he is an accredited mediator of the CIArb. He is the Managing Partner and Head of the Chamber of “Khan Saifur Rahman & Associates” based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and his areas of expertise are criminal law, judicial review, tort law, real estate law, banking law, corporate, commercial and international public law. He has also been working in the areas of domestic and international arbitration and mediation. Mr Adnan is also the Vice Principal of Newcastle Law Academy (West), a recognised teaching centre of the University of London based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been relentlessly working on a pro bono basis on the development of laws of the road traffic accident and clinical negligence cases which areas are significantly underdeveloped in Bangladesh. He is the winner of the Lex-Falcon Award 2021 at the LexTalk World’s Global Hybrid Conference 2021 in Dubai, UAE for his impactful contribution to the legal industry. He was recognised as the Bangladesh's Top 50 lawyers by the Asia Business Law Journal for the year 2022. Mr Adnan is also a national member and mediator of the Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC).
