Nicholas was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2009, and joined Messrs. Raja Darryl & Loh in Kuala Lumpur as an associate. He then joined a boutique firm in 2010, where he was a partner from 2015. In October 2020, he took the leap of faith and founded this firm. Nicholas is an experienced counsel and solicitor in the areas of civil litigation and arbitration. He has acted in litigation cases ranging from construction disputes, medical malpractice claims, defamation suits, commercial disputes and local council matters. His selected experience include succeeding in a claim and appeal in a suit involving the relocation of natural gas pipelines in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, resolving and obtaining a large settlement in a medical malpractice claim involving a cancer patient who was misdiagnosed. He has also acted as lead counsel in many construction arbitrations involving various private commercial and government projects. As a solicitor, he has acted for and advised various corporate clients in matters involving financial and regulatory compliance, including on issues relating to the Financial Services Act 2013, Capital Markets and Services Act 2007, Moneylenders Act 1951 and Central Bank of Malaysia Act 2009. Nicholas has also drafted agreements and advised clients on numerous construction and commercial projects. His portfolio of work in this area includes solar supply projects, share sale of an online insurance platform and structuring of a toll manufacturing deal. In the area of construction adjudication under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 (CIPAA), Nicholas is both a qualified adjudicator and a seasoned counsel. He is empanelled with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC). Nicholas is a legal advisor to the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) and a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board, Malaysia.
