Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), the Honorary Secretary of the CIArb Trinidad and Tobago Chapter, a past Board member of the Institute of Surveyors of Trinidad & Tobago (ISTT), an Honorary Member of the Caribbean Institute of Forensic Accounting and is a Trinidad & Tobago Certified Mediator. Mark is also on the Board of the National Insurance Property Development Company Ltd (NIPDEC), and is Chairman of the Tenders Committee. His specialties include Quantity Surveying, Valuations, Contract Claims & Dispute Resolution for Contractors and Clients under FIDIC and other Forms of Construction Contract. Mark has successfully conducted valuations for building works and loss adjustment claims and has acted as case manager on several Dispute Board and Arbitration disputes, as Sole Arbitrator, as part of an ICC Arbitration Tribunal, as an Expert Witness and as a Mediator, on many dispute resolution matters. He has also conducted training courses on the FIDIC forms of Contract and has undertaken technical authorship on various construction commercial subjects. Mark has over forty (40) years’ experience in the construction and development industry worldwide, on a variety of projects from office buildings and hospitals to high-rise luxury apartments, from major road, rail and pipeline projects, industrial and power plants, hydro dams and oil and gas facilities. Since his UK origins and education, Mark has spent many years living and working throughout the United Kingdom, the USA and the Caribbean and has also been involved in some major projects in the Middle East and the Far East. Mark is the Owner of QSPM Consulting; a Construction Consultancy Company in Trinidad and Tobago.
