Personal bio

Katarína Chovancová is the 1998 graduate from the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia) and the 2011 graduate from the Queen Mary College, University of London (UK), where she graduated with the PG LLM in IDR with merit and later with the PG Diploma in International Business Law with merit in 2022. She is currently the senior research fellow at the Institute of State and Law of the Slovak Academy of Sciences with main focus on international dispute settlement (including arbitration), international investment law and international law of natural resources within the frame of international public law. She works also as a university professor at the Faculty of Law of the Pan European University in Bratislava. As a former banker, she served in 2008-2009 as an arbitrator with the Permanent Arbitration Court of the Slovak Banking Association and is currently listed as an international arbitrator in the Israeli Chamber of Arbitrators. She is the member of the Congress of Fellows with the Center for International Legal Studies in Salzburg (CILS, Austria), the member of ASIL, BIICL, SALS and CSIL.
