Personal bio
Born in South Africa to Welsh parents, I grew up in South Wales. After graduating from Exeter University Mathematics Dapartment, I emigrated to Turkey where I married and undertook my MSc and PhD whilst working as a lecturer in Dokuz Eylul University. I consider myself multicultural. I was one of the founding lecturers for Izmir Economics University and later moved to Istanbul, where I worked in Bilgi University and Bahçeşehir. My husband and I took over his father's law firm in 1995 and some time after I retrained in law, attaining an LLB and LLM/LPC. Since 2004, I have worked almost exclusively in our law office as liaison with foreign clients and as arbitration specialist, whilst taking on some tutoring duties with the CIArb and Universities. I am active in CIArb as a senior Faculty Member, I am the Chair of the Practice Standards Committee and sit on the Exams Committee. In Istanbul, I am an active member of the Board of the British Chamber of Commerce, Turkey.
