Personal bio
Until his appointment as a High Court Judge in 2007, Sir David had been in practice as a barrister, specialising in professional negligence and general commercial matters. He became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 1992. Since his retirement as a judge in 2019, he has acted as a mediator and arbitrator. He is current chairing the Foskett Panel (www.foskettpanel.com), the panel with responsibility for reviewing the compensation claims of victims of the HBOS fraud. He continues to be the Consultant Editor of 'Foskett on Compromise', the leading work on the settlement of disputes.
