Personal bio
Michael Weatherley is a Partner in Ashurst's dispute resolution practice. Throughout his time in Ashurst's Brisbane, London and Singapore offices, Michael has assisted clients with arbitrations in many of the major seats of arbitration and under all of the major rules. He has also assisted clients in managing cross-border litigation, including before the Singaporean, Australian, Malaysian and Indonesian courts. Michael is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, ICC Young Arbitrators Forum, YoungSIAC, ACICA, the Society of Construction Law and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators. Legal 500 lists Michael as a "Next Generation Partner" who is "noted for his advocacy skills" and his "exceptional knowledge of arbitration". He is also described there by clients as "tenacious", "insightful" and "one to watch for the future". He is qualified in both Australia (NSW) and England & Wales.
