Personal bio

Mr Zhu started his career in 1992 at an Intermediate People’s Court as a judge trying commercial cases, experience that has contributed significantly to his success as a leading litigator and arbitrator. Mr Zhu was admitted as a PRC practising lawyer in 1996 and qualified as DIFC advocate in 2020. He focuses on dispute resolution and investment. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (FSIArb), recognised by Chambers & Partners and Legal500 as recommended arbitration lawyer for Asia Pacific. He has dealt with numerous international arbitration cases, both commercial and investor-state, in BAC, CIETAC, ICC, ICSID, LCIA, SCC, SIAC and HKIAC proceedings seated in Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Paris, Singapore, Vienna and Zurich. Mr Zhu also advises both Chinese and foreign clients on cross border investment matters focusing on infrastructure projects in middle east, north Africa, Asia pacific area having worked on many power plant and desalination EPC projects.
