Personal bio

Bhavik completed his LL.B (Hons) from Goa University (India) in 2003, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and a CEDR Accredited Mediator. He was trained at Crawford Bayley & Co. Mumbai (India) and Allen & Gledhill, Singapore before joining the National University of Singapore for postgraduate studies in International Commercial Arbitration and International Investment Law. He has also attended an advanced level programme in International Investment Arbitration organised by ICSID, Georgetown Law and ILI-ACLE. An alumnus of the 9th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, he is a Young Member of the ICSID, LCIA (YIAG), YSIAC, MCIA, ICCA and ICDR (Y&I). Bhavik comes from a family business background in mining and has over the last 17 years, played senior advisory and executive roles in commercial, operational, finance and handling legal matters. His in-house role involves transactional, litigation and dispute resolution experience ( domestic and international arbitration) covering disputes concerning partnerships, mining services contracts, iron ore sale contracts, charter parties, and letters of credit. His cross border experience extends to international mining investments, and commercial transactions including contracts for the sale of goods, railway and port contracts etc.
