Mohannad A. El-Murtadi Suleiman is an attorney at the New York office of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, where he focuses on international commercial arbitration, international investment arbitration, and public international law. He has acted as counsel for states, national oil companies, state-owned and commercial entities, and sovereign wealth funds in arbitrations under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in a wide range of sectors, including construction and infrastructure, natural resources, oil and gas, and transportation.
In addition to his arbitration experience, Mr. El-Murtadi has represented clients in joint venture and corporate disputes, and on corporate transactions in the oil and gas sector involving major international oil companies (IOCs). In addition, he has been involved in numerous enforcement and other local proceedings arising from international arbitrations and has advised governments and state entities on enforcement actions. He has also advised clients on matters such as corporate governance, criminal and civil investigations and proceedings, and assets search and recovery.
The matters he has been involved in include jurisdictions such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Libya, Venezuela, Norway, Switzerland, France, Italy, India, the United States, and the United Kingdom. And the total value of arbitrations he has been involved in exceeds US$30 billion.
