Personal bio
Yanyi’s practice focuses on international arbitration, civil and criminal litigation, and mediation. In the area of international arbitration, Yanyi specialises in Singapore, Myanmar and China-related disputes across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, real estate development, construction and engineering, telecommunications, banking and finance, and energy. She was based in Myanmar from 2017 to 2019, and is bilingual in English and Mandarin. She has represented clients in arbitrations conducted under the auspices of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and International Chamber of Commerce. Yanyi also contributes to the development of arbitration practice in Myanmar as instructing solicitor in court proceedings for the enforcement of arbitration agreements, arbitral awards and anti-suit injunctions. She writes regularly on international arbitration in Myanmar, including for Practical Law, the International Arbitration Review and Kluwer’s International Commercial Arbitration: An Asia-Pacific Perspective. Yanyi is a director of the Singapore branch. She is also an Accredited Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre, is appointed to the panel of the Law Society Mediation Scheme, and is an Advocacy Trainer for the Preparatory Course leading to Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations.
