Personal bio

Fedelma C. Smith has extensive dispute resolution experience in public international law, investment treaty, and commercial contract cases.
Fedelma is a national of Ireland and the United Kingdom. She worked for over a decade at the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in The Hague. Her experience at the PCA as Senior Legal Counsel includes administering a number of investor-state and other significant disputes, as well as supporting the PCA Secretary-General in the appointment of arbitrators, and publishing and presenting on issues of public international law and international dispute resolution. She has held leading and inaugural roles in the PCA’s recently established missions in Mauritius, Singapore, and Vienna.
