Gordon is a legally trained chartered Civil Engineer, currently working as an NEC engineering contract expert, a trained negotiator, an accredited mediator and an accredited adjudicator in the United Kingdom. He is an NEC trainer for NEC Project Manager and Supervisor Accreditation for Thomas Telford Limited, Institution of Civil Engineers, and is a frequent speaker for various NEC related events in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. His services include NEC accreditation training, NEC bespoke workshops, on demand NEC consultation, long term NEC consultancy services, expert witness service and dispute resolution services.
Gordon has been actively involved in the NEC industry with excellent feedback from various international clients from United Kingdom and Hong Kong. Since early year 2000, Gordon has been working for multiple infrastructure projects involving both New Engineering Contract (NEC) and traditional contracts such as General Conditions of Contract of Hong Kong SAR Government (GCC), and Conditions of Contract in the private sector such as MTR Conditions of Contract, and MTR Target Cost Contract. He has constant dialogues with government policy makers, engineers, quantity surveyors, BIM experts, software developers and expert witnesses and stays very much abreast of the current industrial demand, expectation in contract administration and project management. Having worked as a Civil Engineer and a Contract Advisor in both the public and private sector, Gordon is experienced in managing and delivering a number of mega-infrastructure and community engineering projects, specializing in railways and waterworks.
He is also active in the mediation industry both in terms of training for mediators and negotiators in workplace, and carrying out community and commercial mediations both in United Kingdom and Hong Kong. He is a trained negotiator with hands-on negotiation experience in engineering and commercial environment. Gordon is also experienced in drafting commercial negotiation strategies for engineering clients in the engineering industry.
He serves as an accredited mediator in the Society of Mediators in United Kingdom, an accredited adjudicator in UK Adjudicators in United Kingdom, and an arbitrator for the Business Arbitration Services Panel of CIArb(EAB) in Hong Kong and United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (East Asia Branch) (FCIArb) in Hong Kong, a Member of Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE) in United Kingdom and a Member of Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (MHKIE) in Hong Kong.
