William is the principal partner at Githara & associates Advocates, Nairobi. A seasoned advocate with Twenty Five (25) years post qualification experience. Holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) (International Trade and Investments Law) (2006) and a Bachelor’s degree (LL.B (Hons) degree from the University of Nairobi. Was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 1998. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators and Fellow of the Arbitrators’ & Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand. He is a seasoned arbitrator especially in Complex Commercial Arbitrations and acts as both Arbitrator as well as Party representative in diverse arbitrations. He is also an Accredited Mediator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators specialising especially in Commercial mediations. Has worked in various law firms in Nairobi in various areas of law including, Civil and Commercial Litigation, Arbitration Law and Practice, Mediation, Procurement Law and Practice, Property /Conveyancing Law and Practice, Insurance Law, Commercial Law, Company Law, Probate among others. Has also taught at several Universities as Adjunct faculty and as a visiting lecturer. He has been an examiner for the Council of Legal Education in their Bar entry exams under the Advocates Training Program presently serves as a Tutor on the Training Panel of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Kenya Branch.
