Excellent track record in the rail industry with a comprehensive understanding of the issues involved and what it takes to successfully deliver projects. Extensive experience in the use of the NEC forms of contract, coupled with a working knowledge of the FIDIC Red and White books and bespoke contracts. Over the past 32 years, have been actively engaged in the delivery of a number of major railway programmes including the Jubilee Line Extension, Lantau Airport Railway / Airport Express Line (Hong Kong), High Speed 1, West Coast Mainline Upgrade, King’s Cross St Pancras underground station redevelopment, Crossrail, LU track renewals programme, LU sub surface upgrade programme, various projects in the middle east, High Speed 2 and, recently, the successful delivery of the Northern Line extension programme. Working for client, project management, design and contractor organisations, have held senior management positions with accountability for the delivery of significant aspects of each project. Establishing and leading diverse multi-disciplinary teams with extensive stakeholder engagement and collaboration, have established strong working relationships that have contributed to positive project outcomes. As head of the King’s Cross St Pancras underground station redevelopment project, spent 3 years leading the Metronet Rail delivery of the planning, procurement, design, construction and commissioning activities. During this period the new western ticket hall and upgrade of the existing tube ticket hall were completed. Recently, in the role of TfL’s deputy project director for the Northern Line extension, was extensively involved in the strategic and tactical delivery of the project. This included the administration of the NEC works contract and property development contracts and the negotiation of supplementary agreements and deeds of variation.
