Personal bio
Bhurima joined MDD Forensic Accountants' Singapore office in 2012 and relocated to Thailand to set up and manage the firm’s Bangkok office since 2016. Bhurima’s forensic accounting expertise spans a wide range of practice areas, including business interruption, advance loss of profits / delay in start up, commercial disputes, construction defect/delay, cyber risks, employment litigation, fraud and investigations, and stock and content losses. She also has experience in the catastrophe services area, providing economic damage assessments during natural disasters such as the 2011 Thailand Floods. Her experience spans across many industries ranging from hotels, manufacturing, power plants to chemical and refineries. Bhurima has testified as an expert witness in various courts in Thailand. Bhurima is well-known and respected in the Thai insurance and arbitration industry. She leads our Thailand MDD Academy Sessions, presenting numerous sessions over the years, including many in-house seminars for insurers and brokers, for the Thai General Insurance Association as well as leading law firms. Bhurima is a member of ArbitralWomen. She has served as Honorary Treasurer for the Insurance Law Association Singapore (ILAS). Bhurima received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Thammasat University in Bangkok. She also spent one year as an exchange student at Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. She is pursuing her CiArb qualification. She is fluent in Thai and English with knowledge of spoken Mandarin.
