Personal bio
Brian McMullin is a QUB accredited Mediator based in Dublin & Donegal and is a Panellist with Juris Resolutions. He has a keen interest in ADR and is a member of the ADR committee of the Law Society of Ireland (LSI). He is also a member of the Council of the Irish Commercial Mediation Association. He has managed VP McMullin Ballyshannon (now Brian J McMullin Solicitors) since 1995. He was instrumental in introducing quality and risk management systems within the firm and this culminated in the firm receiving awards at the Irish Law Awards in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The firm was also a finalist in two categories at the Irish Law Awards 2019. He has chaired a division of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal for eight years and was previously a member of the LSI’s Regulation of Practice Committee for four years. He was appointed Chairperson of the LSI’s Legal Services Excellence Standard steering group by the Council of the LSI in November 2020. This group is currently establishing a Legal Services Excellence Standard for Solicitors practicing in Ireland and the standard will be accredited by the National Standards Authority of Ireland. He has twenty eight years experience as a commercial litigator and is currently completing CIarb’s Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration. He also holds LSI qualifications in Judicial Skills & Decision Making (Diploma), Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring (Diploma), Techology Law (Certificate), Property Tax (Diploma) and the LSI/Council of Europe Certificate in Business & Human Rights.
