Personal bio
Peter has a degree in law and economics (giving a rare understanding and insight into complex loss and damages scenarios) and was admitted as a solicitor in 1986. He has been a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators since 2010.
From his many years of experience and writings Peter brings great clarity to the procedural aspects of arbitration. On the substantive issues, Peter brings intellectual rigour to his awards.
Peter promotes an early assessment with the parties (and their counsel) of the issues; the process; and costs options. With that he promotes an early discussion of the required directions, pleading and evidence on each issue.
Peter draws on his considerable experience in acting and advising on complex domestic and international commercial arbitration with particular emphasis on arbitrations administered by the main institutional bodies across a broad range of sectors including sale and purchase agreements, M&A, transport and logistics, renewable energy, joint ventures and agency and distribution.
