Sidney is a legal practitioner with over 34 years of experience as an advocate in a broad range of legal matters. He has practiced in various types of commercial dispute resolution such as negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation in different courts in different jurisdictions.
Sidney specialises predominantly in commercial and contract law. He conducts consultations with clients in relation to commercial contracts and disputes and remedies. Sidney also practices corporations’ law and partnerships and trust law. Sidney has excellent knowledge of negotiation and drafting contracts, including both local and international contracts. Sidney has also acquired skill and expertise in drafting international arbitration agreements. During dispute resolution, Sidney always advises his client to follow alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as fair negotiation, prelitigation mediation (voluntary) and arbitration. However, if the matter proceeds to court Sidney will highly recommend the client to consider judicial mediation to settle their dispute.
Sidney has a keen interest in international arbitration because he has dealt with many international and local commercial clients as well as joint venture clients. Sidney has also acted in cases which recognise and enforce the international commercial arbitration award in Australia.
