Personal bio

Bernadette qualified as an architect in 1986 and then undertook an MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration at Kings College London.

Bernadette holds the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificates (for Civil and also Criminal).

In 1993 Bernadette set up Barker Consultants.

Having developed an interest in construction law Bernadette trained as adjudicator and then an arbitrator.

Bernadette is a practising Member of the Academy of Expert Witnesses and has a particular interest in fire matters, building defects, external walls, cladding and maritime.
Bernadette holds the Ciarb Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration and also the CIArb Diploma in International Maritime Arbitration
