Jumoke is a Lawyer who has worked in various industries and capacities ranging from Law Practice to Telecommunications and more recently Banking and Finance.
Before disengaging from Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) in October 2021, Jumoke had a ten-year stint working in various capacities within the Risk and Operations functions within SCB.
Her responsibilities in her last role as Head, Lending and Retail Risk Operstions, Nigeria & West Africa; and as a management team member were primarily the E2E ownership of the client onboarding relationship to drive credit quality, client experience, and operational efficiency, while aligning the Credit Risk and Lending operations functions with business strategy and risk appetite. Inclusive of this was how Regulatory and Group policies relating to credit financing for Personal and MSMEs are reviewed and implemented operationally and promptly, highlighting the attendant risks.
Prior to joining SCB, Jumoke had also worked in Stanbic IBTC (a subsidiary of Standard Bank Plc), MTN Nigeria Ltd, and Law Prac6ce, all in her 20-year working Career.
She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria with over twenty [20] years post-call.
Jumoke also has substantial experience in Corporate Governance and a member of the prestigious Institute of Directors, international body following her appointment as a Director to the Board of two private holding and subsidiary establishments namely STB Marcomm Partners Limited and Universal McCann Media Limited, both affiliated with McCann Worldgroup.
She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK and a CFE from the association of Certified Fraud Examiners USA.
Jumoke enjoys mentoring and sponsoring individuals navigating the career, business, and life paths.
She is an avid runner who loves to travel and dance Salsa.
Jumoke recently completed a Leadership programme at the Cambridge Judge Business School to up- skill herself on cutting edge information and practices for businesses, organizations in the global marketplace. The programme also was tailored to assist in honing her leadership skills and broaden her network. She has since then revamped her private practice which focuses on Risk Management, Corporate Governance, ADR, Legal, Regulatory Management and Compliance. She intends in the near future to work with a global organizations or institutions seeking to expand in the dynamic African Market to enable her utilize her wealth of experience, as well as knowledge about global best practices.
