Call for Evidence on the Arbitration Bill

26 Jan 2024

The Arbitration Bill which incorporates proposed amendments to the Arbitration Act 1996 is currently before the UK Parliament. The House of Lords has convened a Special Public Bill Committee to scrutinise the Bill. The Committee has issued a Call for Evidence. For information on the call for evidence click here.

Ciarb will submit a response to the call for evidence, and we welcome input from our members on this matter. For members who want to contribute, please note that the time frame given by the House of Lords is extremely short. We must therefore request that responses from the membership are received by us by 12:00 noon GMT on 2 February 2024.

Please email your responses to policy@ciarb.org.

We will process your input and submit a response from Ciarb by the deadline set by the House of Lords Committee deadline of 6th February 2024.

Ciarb has issued two previous responses to the UK Law Commission’s consultation on reforms to the Arbitration Act 1996. (see Ciarb responses on December 2022 and May 2023).

Thank you in advance for your input.
