This evening, the Honourable Ms. Teresa Cheng GBS SC JP Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong SAR was invited as the first woman and past President to deliver the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators’ prestigious Alexander Lecture at CIArb’s building in London.
Secretary Teresa Cheng, whilst entering the building was assaulted by a crowd. As a result she sustained an injury to her arm.
CIArb is committed to peacefully resolving conflict and deplores the use of violence, particularly to a guest to the United Kingdom.

Significant progress on Advisory Centre for International Investment Law at UNCITRALIn 2017, UNCITRAL Working Group III (WGIII) was launched and was tasked with working on procedural reform of the investor state dispute settlement (ISDS) system. From 1-5 April 2024, Ciarb participated in the 48th session of WGIII in its capacity as an observer delegate.
