Abu Backer Sidhic is a engineer turned Lawyer now practicing @ Madras High Court, Chennai, India. Specialzing in litigation and alternative disputes resolutions. He has over 22 years of experience in fields of project management and law.

He founded FreeLegal.In and runs its as a pro bono legal portal. His office portal Premierlegal.co.in is being built for helping young lawyers and common people for guided writing of simple petitions, forms for use with government offices and also works as a test lab for leveraging the use of technology in the day to day business of legal fraternity.

In 2010, he was called to the Bar Council of Tamilnadu & Puducherry, Chennai, India. In 2015, he was admitted as member of Chartered Institute of Arbitration (CIArb), UK and London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), UK.

To his credit, he has successfully represented many arbitration matters related to various projects disputes in Oil & Gas and construction industry. He has played Party Representative, Negotiation Team Member and Expert Witness roles in various instances of project disputes that are settled through Arbitration and Mediation methods.

He has offered numerous independant opinions and solutions to various corporate and individual clients on their various legal issues related to Contentious litigations and Arbitration & Trade Mark, Copyright, Patents, Etc.

He has rendered professional services in cases relating to Constitutional Law, Service & Administrative law, Education, Consumer, Civil Disputes involving Title, Transfer of Property and argued in matters before various International Med-Arb Centres, Madras High Court, Other Civil Courts, and Consumer Redressal Forums in Madurai in India.

With basic graduation in the field of Mechanical Engineering, he is a project management professional also, with demonstrable capacity to handle oil & gas projects involving crude & gas production, processing facilities, and utility systems. He has rich experience in handling oil & gas projects executed for clients like SHELL, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), Saudi ARAMCO, North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC), etc, He has travelled for work to countries like USA, UK, Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, and Kazakhstan.

In 2009, Abu Backer Sidhic has also been registered as Mechanical Engineer with Saudi Council of Engineers, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2008 he has been certified on PRINCE2 Project Management Practices by APMG, UK.
