The second edition of the FIDIC suite of contracts, issued in December 2017, witnessed substantial changes and expansions from the first edition of 1999. It is suggested that one of the factors affecting these substantial changes is the influence of the civil law jurisdictions on the FIDIC contract, which was initially drafted in a common law setting. This webinar investigates this theory with references to the Egyptian civil law.
