Take a step closer towards becoming a qualified arbitrator, adjudicator or mediator by taking Ciarb’s Virtual Module 2: Law of Obligations course and assessment.

Ciarb’s Module 2 course provides you with an understanding of the relevant principles in the law of tort and the law of contract in the context of how disputes may arise and be resolved. The course covers both common and civil law jurisdictional principles.

On successful completion of Module 2 and its assessment, and providing you meet the entry criteria, you will be able to progress to the relevant Virtual Module 3 course.

If you are legally trained, you may be eligible to take the Module 2 Online Exemption Test instead.

How is the course delivered?

The course comprises a combination of private study and ten virtual tutorials. It is delivered virtually over a six-month period.

How will I be assessed?

The Module 2: Law of Obligations assessment is available to book separately. It is an online assessment accessed via Ciarb’s learning platform, LearnADR. You will be given 48 consecutive hours within a five-day window to complete it and you must achieve a minimum overall mark of 65% to pass.

What are the entry requirements?

You must have successfully completed and passed one of the Module 1 – Law, Practice and Procedure assessments.

Applicants who have a recognised law degree or practising law certificate may be eligible to take the Module 2 Online Exemption Test instead.

When do tutorials take place?

  • 1st Virtual tutorial - 7 & 8 December 2023
  • 2nd Virtual Tutorial - 11 & 12 January 2024
  • 3rd Virtual Tutorial - 8 & 9 February 2024
  • 4th Virtual Tutorial - 7 & 8 March 2024
