The internationally-renowned Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration is open to those with a legal background and who are involved in arbitration. It is a specialist, nine-day residential course held in the heart of Oxford. This intensive course looks at subjects including the Law, Practice and Procedure of International Commercial Arbitration, as well as Evidence, Decision Making and Award Writing. It is taught by prominent international experts in the field and attracts candidates from across the globe including Asia Pacific, Europe, United Arab Emirates, the Americas and Africa. Successful completion of this specialist residential course will allow you to apply for varying grades of membership with CIArb.
The Chartered Institute also offers a two-day Accelerated Routes to Membership (ARM) in Construction Adjudication, International Arbitration or Domestic Arbitration for those with a legal background and some knowledge of these forms of alternative dispute resolution. Candidates on an ARM undertake written work and a day of assessment workshops, followed by an exam on the second day, and upon passing, are eligible to apply for CIArb Membership.
The three-day Accelerated Routes to Fellowship (ARF) in Construction Adjudication, International Arbitration or Domestic Arbitration are for those with a legal background and 5 years experience of these forms of alternative dispute resolution. They consist of written work and two days of assessment workshops, followed by a third day with decision or award writing exam. On passing all of these, successful candidates can apply for membership of CIArb and, upon passing a peer interview, potentially qualify as Fellows of CIArb.
