I regularly sit as Arbitrator in Consumer and Commercial Arbitrations. I am an RICS accredited expert witness. I am also approved to teach on Pathway and Introduction courses run by the Institute.

Paul Jensen is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Arbitrator and Adjudicator with over 30 years' experience dealing with construction disputes and contracts. Paul Jensen is a past Chairman of the CIArb NW Branch and is currently its Honorary Secretary.

I am the Vice Chair of the Branch. I am the Managing Director of Drake QS Limited. I specialise in providing Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management and Dispute Resolution Services to organisations who operate in the Mechanical and Electrical Services Sector of the Construction Industry. In addition to this, I also lecture at the University of Salford on the BSc Quantity Surveying Undergraduate course.

I am a consulting solicitor at law firm Slater Heelis LLP practising in England and Wales, also qualified in Eire, specialising in the field of construction and engineering. I provide legal support services to a variety of clients in various sectors covering contentious and non-contentious business. I am also an independent CIArb and CMC accredited mediator. I am the Chair of the Branch Education Sub-Committee and approved to teach on Introduction courses run by the Institute. I am the author of Cases on the Enforcement of Construction Adjudication Awards published by the Institute and a regular contributor to their Journal.

I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Project Principle at Mott Macdonald. I have experience as a project and cost manager on a variety of both large and small construction projects in both the building and civil engineering sectors. I am also an accredited mediator. I am an ex-Chairman of the North West Branch, editor of the weekly Branch newsletter and I manage the Branch Twitter account (@CIArbNW).
I am part of the Construction & Engineering team at law firm Slater Heelis LLP having gained experience as a construction claims consultant. I am experienced in both contentious and non-contentious areas of construction law working on a wide range of dispute resolution and avoidance matters including adjudication, arbitration, mediation and litigation. I am also part of the NW branch Education Sub-Committee.

I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and practice as an Adjudicator, Arbitrator and Mediator. I work for The Vinden Partnership which I formed in 1994 and I am currently the Convenor for the CIArb’s Mediation panel. I am a member of the Branch Committee and Education Sub-Committee.

I am a director of Byrom Clark Roberts Ltd. I am a Chartered Architect and have also acted as an expert witness for nearly 30 years in claims for Architect’s negligence, building disputes, contractual disputes, accommodation cases, slips and trips and Rights of Light cases. I am also an adjudicator. I am a past chairman of the North West branch.

Michael Hawkyard FCIArb
I am a former Chair of the NW Branch, following several years as Hon.Sec. My primary profession is a QS, being also an accredited mediator (CEDR) and registered adjudicator (RICS). I am also a chartered construction manager. I have been a corporate member of the CIArb for more than 35 years, a Fellow for more than 20 years. My work is predominantly contractual consultancy, disputes' management and claims-related services and expert witness services, often in oil/gas/power/alternative energy, but with experience spanning all types and sizes of construction works. Substantial overseas experience includes work in Nigeria, Algeria, South Africa, Angola, India, the UAE, Qatar, Malaysia, Singapore and the EC.
