The branch recently hosted a ladies only event on International Women's Day at the Four Seasons, Jumeirah, Dubai.
Promoting Women in Arbitration, the event was attended by Professor Dr. Nayla Comair-Obeid as a surprise guest keynote speaker.
Hosts were overwhelmed with the level of participation, with over 40 female members and member guests represented on the night to include representatives from a number of local arbitral centres (DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, EMAC), Arbitral Women and WiAR.
One of the attending members later posted a group photograph on Linkedin which went viral in less than one day, with over 4,300 views and counting.
The branch is currently coordinating with The Oath magazine who have expressed interest in writing a feature on the success of the event.
