Following today’s announcement, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators sends its deepest condolences to His Majesty The King and to the Royal Family on the very sad death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators expresses its sincere gratitude to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for her seven decades of public service which she carried out so selflessly and steadfastly, and who symbolised dedication and stability to her peoples throughout her reign.

Catherine Dixon, CIArb Director General, has written to His Majesty The King, expressing sincere and heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Joint intervention success as Churchill judgment allows the courts to order parties to mediate

In a significant moment for mediation, the highly anticipated Churchill judgment overturns the decision in Halsey, confirming it is not a breach of human rights to integrate mediation into the court process and, where appropriate, to order parties to mediate.
