The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators is deeply saddened to announce the death of John Arthur FCIArb, Chair of the CIArb Australian Branch. John Arthur died last week following a motorcycle accident. He leaves behind his wife and four daughters.
John was Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a barrister and member of the Victorian Bar of over 30 years. He had been a National Councillor of the Australian Branch of CIArb since September 2014 and previously its Treasurer (May 2017 – April 2020) and Company Secretary (October 2014 to May 2018).
Catherine Dixon, Director General, says, “John Arthur made a significant and outstanding contribution to the global Alternative Dispute Resolution community throughout his career. He will be greatly missed by us all. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and those close to him.”
