In Memoriam Irene Mambilima
The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Zambia Branch, wishes to announce the sad passing of its Patron, the Chief Justice of Zambia, her Ladyship Justice Mrs Irene Mambilima, who died on 20th June 2021. CIArb Zambia wishes to convey sincere condolences to her Ladyship's family, the Zambian Judiciary and legal fraternity, as well as the people of Zambia over this tragic loss. Her ladyship became the Patron of Zambia Branch on the 2nd October 2020 and was passionate about ensuring that the Judiciary and CIArb Zambia forged a strong partnership in the dispensation of Justice in Zambia.

Significant progress on Advisory Centre for International Investment Law at UNCITRALIn 2017, UNCITRAL Working Group III (WGIII) was launched and was tasked with working on procedural reform of the investor state dispute settlement (ISDS) system. From 1-5 April 2024, Ciarb participated in the 48th session of WGIII in its capacity as an observer delegate.
