CIArb European Branch is proud to offer two courses which will take place within the next months in Moscow. These courses are conducted in association with the Russian Arbitration Center at the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration (RAC at RIMA).
Introduction to International Commercial Arbitration - 18 October 2019
This course provides an understanding of the general principles of international (i.e. non- domestic) arbitration and its relationship to other dispute resolution processes. The course will give candidates a basic understanding of the principles of good practice and procedure in international arbitration.
The course tutor is George Lambrou FCIArb, who has extensive experience in the international arbitration field and are highly regarded within the community.

Module 1 - Law Practice & Procedure of International Arbitration (September - December 2019)
The course focuses on legal principles, process, practice and procedure in international arbitration. It is therefore valuable for anyone wishing to understand this topic generally, for example as a party, party representative or witness. It is also an essential requirement for qualification as a Fellow of CIArb, and for those who aim to practise as an international arbitrator. The course is delivered over a period of three months, with a combination of private study and face-to- face tutorials. The course date advertised is the start date of the course when candidates will be required to start their private study of reading not when they attend tutorials.

Joint intervention success as Churchill judgment allows the courts to order parties to mediateIn a significant moment for mediation, the highly anticipated Churchill judgment overturns the decision in Halsey, confirming it is not a breach of human rights to integrate mediation into the court process and, where appropriate, to order parties to mediate.
