Albert Dinelli is a barrister and arbitrator at the English and Victorian Bars, where he practises widely in international commercial arbitration. In so doing, he is able to mix his academic expertise, the culmination of which was his doctorate in Private International Law at the University of Oxford, with his practical experience as counsel, as an arbitrator and as an assistant or secretary to various international tribunals.
Before becoming a barrister, Albert was Associate to the Honourable Murray Gleeson AC QC, the then Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia. He previously practised as a solicitor with Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons) and as a foreign qualified lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Rome, Italy.
Albert is available to accept appointments as a sole arbitrator or as a member of an arbitral panel. He has been involved in international arbitrations in London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.
Albert is also a Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne, where he teaches Conflict of Laws.
