CIArb India Young Members Group, Nishith Desai Associates, and ArbitralWomen are pleased to organise an online event on 'Women leaders in dispute resolution: Perspectives of a judge, lawyer, arbitrator and in-house counsel'. The webinar features prominent women leaders in the field.
The event will take place at 5.00pm Indian Summer Time (IST); 12.30pm British Summer Time (BST). Please check your local time zone.
A discussion on equal opportunity, gender diversity, inclusion, safety, leadership, change and excellence for women in the field of dispute resolution is pivotal for creating pathways to holistic growth of the legal profession. At Nishith Desai Associates, 47% of the leadership comprises women. Is this the story everywhere else? Do women get equal opportunities and experience as men in dispute resolution? Are women expected to go an extra mile to prove their merit? Does safety pose a challenge in pursuing a successful career? Are there sufficient institutional safeguards and benefits available to women in dispute resolution? If not, how can women navigate challenge in the existing circumstances before the men and women in the legal profession bring about substantial change?
This online event will bring together eminent women leaders from all walks and models involving dispute resolution – the judiciary, courts, arbitration, corporates and law firms. These women leaders will share their journeys and shed light on ways to steer one’s course in the legal profession towards excellence and fulfilment.
This is not a women-only session. This is for a world that is fast recognising the value of all genders and includes all genders. We therefore invite all those interested and involved in the legal profession to take part and make a difference!
The session will be moderated by Kshama A. Loya (Leader), along with Shweta Sahu and Bhavana Sunder (Emerging Leaders) from the International Dispute Resolution Team at Nishith Desai Associates.
Cost: Access to this event is free for CIArb members and non-members, however pre-registration is required in order to receive the event link.
