For our next branch meeting we are pleased to be hosted again by solicitors Veale Wasbrough Vizards at their smart new Narrow Quay offices in central Bristol, where we are fortunate to have Former Branch Chairman Geoff Hanna of W T Hills Limited exploring the role of the Expert Witness from instruction through to standing alone in the witness box and occasional hot-tubbing.
Geoff is a Director of Hills and has extensive experience of public and private sector construction projects, both new build and refurbishment and is able to draw on this experience and knowledge in providing Expert Witness reports and assisting parties to resolve their disputes whether through mediation, adjudication or arbitration.
He is well regarded by both those who instruct him and has received favourable comment from the Judiciary. Notably, when Geoff acted as expert witness on behalf of Lawson Developments in a claim against the TV personality Noel Edmonds, which came before His Honour Judge David Wilcox in the Technology and Construction Court, His Honour commented that “the data giving rise to the costs base is in my judgement accurate and has been demonstrated to be so by the meticulous investigation of Mr Hanna".
Geoff is employed by a number of local and national lawyers as an expert witness on a single joint basis and also as a party-appointed expert, working with a number of blue-chip clients on high profile cases. We invite you to join us for a finger buffet and drinks from 6pm with the talk starting at about 6.45pm.
There is no charge for this meeting but please advise attendance for catering purposes.
