CIArb invites you to a Policy Webinar, discussing the Supreme Court decision in the Halliburton v Chubb case. This is an online event, taking place at 9.00am GMT, please check your local time zone.
The Halliburton v Chubb decision handed down by the Supreme Court in November last year centred on fundamental questions for the practice of arbitration – the primacy of impartiality, and the extent of the duty of an arbitrator to disclose any circumstances which may give rise to doubts about impartiality. Professional standards and issues of transparency are in turn at the heart of this case, and the long-term implications of the ruling are still being considered.
This panel discussion features prominent arbitration experts (including members of the legal team who intervened in the case on behalf of CIArb) as they share their in-depth analyses of what the case will mean for arbitration in the UK and beyond.
